After a years hard work I completed my first Olympic distance Triathlon in May 2012 in 3:36. I knew I could go faster so the goal was set for a sub 3 hour Olympic distance Triathlon. This was a tough call and it took me three attempts. 3:01:26 in early June 2013 then 3:02:15 in the National championships in Trinidad in July 2013. The conditions were not good for that race though and I knew I was fit enough to go much faster. It was going to have to be Barbados for my third attempt at this elusive goal!

So the 6am start of the Triathlon on the 29th September 2013 brought almost perfect, but hot, conditions on Brandons Beach Barbados. I cleared the swim in 37 minutes, a personal best. Two minute transition and a very swift 1:10 for the 24 mile ride. This left me with an easy target on the 10k run. I nailed thins in comfortably under the hour to clock a personal bast and goal busting time of 2:49:05! This also got me fastest in age group and 10th overall so podium position!
